About

Dr. Hauser is a licensed clinical New Haven psychologist with 25 years of experience evaluating and treating teens, adults, couples and families. She uses a variety of approaches including cognitive behavioral interventions, mindfulness, as well as psychodynamic and systems modalities.

Dr. Hauser received her Ph.D. from The Derner Institute for Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University where she was awarded an early career award for her dissertation research on intergenerational attachment styles.. She did her internship and residency at Yale University School of Medicine after which she completed a two year fellowship in eating disorders at the Yale Center for Eating and Weight Disorders later becoming the Clinical Director. Dr. Hauser was the President and CEO of Connecticut Weight and Wellness where she created popular emotional eating lectures and led emotional eating groups for more than 700 patients.

For 19 years, Dr. Hauser maintained a faculty appointment at The Yale Child Study Center where she served as the Community Chair for The National Center for Children Exposed to Violence. She is an ardent supporter of vulnerable children and families, running for state office and being active in local, state and national politics. 

Dr. Hauser served on three working groups for public policy on social mobility and income inequality and is the recipient of several awards for her advocacy work.

Dr. Hauser is currently writing a book on ADHD focusing on the effects of ADHD in women and girls as well as the diagnoses and its effects on families. She sets aside a portion of her practice for ADHD parenting consultation.

Dr. Hauser is devoted to family, loves the ocean, and enjoys travel.

    Sessions:

    Available by appointment. Sessions are available in person or through videoconferencing software such as Zoom or Skype. Sessions begin at the top of the hour and are 45 minutes in length.
